I studied formally as an architect, but I am a self taught painter. I find painting to be both cathartic and, at times, extremely frustrating.

My medium of choice is acrylic paint and I complement that with pencil and ink. The painting process is reactionary, whether that is a reaction to a free-form ink line, a rigid architectural pencil line, a form, or a color. The paintings are never predetermined. They come about from creating a background of texture and color, and then reacting to that base of a design with a number of elements --- large swatches of paint, forms taped off that are later revealed, or even manically precise lines. My ultimate goal doesn’t fall under any social or artistic commentary umbrella, but rather the sole desire to achieve a harmonious composition of depth, color, form, and line.
